Having just collected our cotton nighties from the factory at Bridlington in Yorkshire, I thought I’d post a few photographs of the lovely ladies who work there. We are very proud of our Yorkshire base!
Our customers simply love our nighties. At a certain age most little girls go through that “princess” phase and so nightdresses are very popular.. sometimes so much so that Mum has trouble getting the child out of the nightie and ready for school the next morning!!
At The Pyjama House we love the traditional, retro look. Our nighties have adorable Peter Pan collars trimmed in pale pink and to match the buttons on the yoke. The summer nightie, shown above, is in fine Egyptain cotton pale blue seashell print with a hint of coral pink to pick up the buttons and the piping. The winter nightdress is made in a brushed cotton flannel in a similarly Liberty-inspired pale pink rosebud print. Both look adorable worn all the way to the floor or just below the knee so children usually get at least 2 year’s wear out of each size, sometimes 3. The sleeves are full length, lightly gathered at the cuff. Sizing is generous.
I enjoyed meeting Alice (shown below) who was just doing the last bit of ironing and packing, and dear Margaret (above) who, aged 70, loves working with such pretty fabrics and was very complementary about the quality of the cotton we have used and how well it washes and irons.
